Julie Marfell
Julie Marfell DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP

Associate Professor at University of Kentucky College of Nursing

Julie Marfell received her BSN and ND/DNP from Rush University. Dr. Marfell is an experienced leader and expert in graduate nursing education. She has served in leadership positions including Dean at Frontier Nursing University. Dr. Marfell has led successful initial and ongoing university accreditation as well as MSN and DNP programs. She has expertise in graduate nursing curriculum development and has been using an online course delivery for over 20 years. Dr. Marfell teaches in the MSN and DNP Executive/Clinical Leadership Programs. She has been active in professional organizations and served on the Executive Board of Directors for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwives and currently the Kentucky Nurses Action Coalition. Dr. Marfell’s research interests include nursing leadership, rural health, farmer stress and nursing workforce issues. She is working with the UK College of Agriculture and the Kentucky Nurses Action Coalition on two grant funded projects to address access to mental health services for rural communities and farmer stress. Dr. Marfell continues to practice and mentor students as an FNP in the College of Nursing Wilmore Clinic.

Lee Anne Walmsley PhD, MSN, RN

Lee Anne Walmsley PhD, MSN, RN Lee Anne Walmsley is an assistant professor, director of work-life and student wellness and military & veteran student liaison at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She has more than 40 years of clinical and academic experience. Lee Anne has a doctorate in nursing, a Doctor of Education, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the UK.

Paul Norrod
Paul Norrod DrPH, M-Div., MAC, RN

Assistant Professor

Dr. Norrod is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. His research focuses on occupational health and injury prevention using machine learning and big data. In particular, Dr. Norrod conducts research on mental health conditions and suicide in the US workforce, and develops community-based interventions aimed at improving mental well-being in occupational and rural populations. Dr. Norrod's areas of teaching expertise include epidemiology, community and population health, and biostatistics.
